Bible Text  (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]

Cry out now, and see if anyone answers you; and to which of the saints will you turn?
For wrath kills the foolish man, and envy slays the naive one.
I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his dwelling.
His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither [is there] any to deliver [them].
Whose harvest the hungry eats up, and takes it even out of the thorns, and the robber swallows up their substance.
Although affliction does not come forth from the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;
Yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
I would seek after God, and to God would I commit my cause:
Who does great things that cannot be explained; extraordinary things too numerous to count:
Who gives rain upon the earth, and sends waters upon the fields:
To set up on high those that are low; that those who mourn may be exalted to safety.
He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands cannot put their ideas into practice.
He takes the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the twisted is carried away.
They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope in the noonday as in the night.
But he saves the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
So the poor has hope, and iniquity shuts her mouth.
Behold, happy [is] the man whom God corrects: therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty:
For he hurts, and binds up: he wounds, and his hands heal.
He will deliver you in six troubles: yes, in seven no evil will touch you.
In famine he will redeem you from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
You will be hidden from the lashing of the tongue: you will not be afraid of destruction when it comes.
At destruction and famine you will laugh: you will not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
For you will be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field will be at peace with you.
And you will know that your home [will be] in peace; and you will check your dwelling, and nothing will be missing.
You will know also that your offspring [will be] great, and your descendants as the grass of the earth.
You will come to [your] grave in full maturity, like a shock of corn comes up in season.
See, we have checked this out, and it is true; listen and admit it for your own good.
