Bible Text  (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]

1 Therefore having left behind the beginnings of the doctrine of Christ, let us move on to maturity; not laying the foundation over again of repentance from lifeless activities, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, as God allows us to.
4 For [it is] impossible for those who once saw the light, and have experienced the gift from heaven, and became partners in the Holy Spirit,
5 And have experienced the [rhema] word of God, and the dynamic powers of the age that is about to come,
- RHEMA - WORD
6 If they should turn away from the truth, to renew them again to repentance; seeing they recrucify the Son of God themselves, and publicly disgrace Him.
7 For the soil that drinks in the rain that comes often upon it, and bears herbs, useful to those by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God:
8 But that which bears thorns and briers [is] rejected, and [is] on the brink of being cursed; whose ultimate destiny [is] to be burned.
9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
10 For God [is] not unjust to forget your work and labour of [agape] love, which you have shown toward His Name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and are [still] ministering.
- AGAPE - DIVINE LOVE
11 And we want every one of you to continually manifest the same core desire, right until the end: leading to the full assurance of what you are expecting.
- HOPE
12 That you are not lazy, but followers of those who through faith and persistence are obtaining the promises.
13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he swore by himself,
14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.
15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
16 For men truly swear by someone greater: and an oath as confirmation [is] for them an end to all disputes.
17 In this case God, wanting all the more to display to the heirs of promise the unalterable nature of his decisions, confirmed [it] with an oath:
18 That by two unalterable things, in which [it was] impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to hold onto the hope set before us:
- HOPE
19 Having this hope as an anchor for the soul, both firm and secure, and which enters into the inside of the veil;
- HOPE
20 Where Jesus, the forerunner has entered for us, being made a high priest for ever in the same category as Melchisedec.
