Bible Text  (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]

Let us therefore be afraid, in case a promise having been left [us] of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to fall short of it.
For the gospel was preached to us, as well as to them: but the word preached did not benefit them, not having been combined with faith in those that heard [it].
For we who have believed enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my anger [orge] if they will enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh [day] in this way, And God rested the seventh day from all his works.
And in this [place] again, If they will enter into my rest.
Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter into it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter in because of unbelief:
Again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a [chronos] time; as it is said, To day if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.
- CHRONOS - TIME
For if Joshua had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.
For he that has entered into his rest, has also ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
For the word of God [is] living, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing right up to the division between soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
- SWORD
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things [are] naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] confession.
For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with us in our weakness; but was tested in every way just as we are, yet without sin.
Let us, therefore, approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we can take hold of mercy and discover favor to help us when we need it.
