And one day, while He was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes descended on Him with the elders,
- TEACHING OFFICE
And spoke to him, saying, What authority do you use to do these things? Or who gave you this authority?
He replied in answer to them, Let me also ask you to answer one thing:
Did the baptism of John, come from heaven, or from men?
They discussed this with themselves, saying, If we were to say, From heaven, he will say, then why did you not believe him?
But if we say, From men, then all the people will stone us: for they are convinced that John was a prophet.
They replied that they could not tell where it came from.
And Jesus said to them, then I am not telling you by what authority I am doing these things.
He began then to present to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, handed it over to gardeners, and traveled abroad for a long [chronos] time period.
- CHRONOS - TIME
And at the proper [kairos] time he sent a servant to the gardeners so that they could give him some of the fruit of the vineyard: but the gardeners beat him, and sent [him] away empty handed.

He sent another servant: and they beat him also, and humiliated him and sent him away empty handed.
He sent again a third servant: and they attacked and wounded him as well, and threw him out.
Then the owner of the vineyard thought, What should I do? I will send my favorite son: maybe they will respect him when they see him.
But when the gardeners saw him, they discussed among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come on, let's kill him so that the inheritance can be ours.
So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What do you suppose the owner of the vineyard will do to them?
He will come and destroy these gardeners and give the vineyard to others. And when they heard [it], they said, let this never be.
And he looked at them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone that the builders rejected is the one that has become the head of the corner?
Whoever falls upon that stone will be broken, but on whoever it falls, it will grind him to powder.
And the chief priests and the scribes looked to lay hands on him right then, and they were afraid of the people, for they realized that he had spoken this parable against them.
And they kept an eye on Him and sent spies, who pretended to be upright and righteous so that they could trap Him with his words, and so they could hand him over to the control and authority of the governor.
They asked him, saying, Teacher, we know that you speak and teach correctly, you are not influenced by anyone else, but teach the way of God in truth:
Is it God's law for us to give taxes to Caesar, or not?
But he realized their craftiness and said to them, Why are you [peirazo] testing me?
Show me a denarius. Whose image and title does it have? They answered and said, Caesar's.
And he said to them, Then pay to Caesar the things that belong to Caesar, and to God the things that are God's.
They could not catch Him with his spoken [rhema] words in front of the people: and they were amazed at his answer, and remained silent.
- RHEMA - WORD
Then some Sadducees came to Him, who rejected the idea of a resurrection, and they asked him,
Saying, Teacher, Moses wrote to us, If any man's brother dies, having a wife, and he dies without children, then his brother should take his wife and raise up descendants for his brother.
There were seven brothers: and the first took a wife, and died without children.
The second took her as a wife, and he died childless.
The third took her; and in the same way all seven: and they left no children, and died.
Finally, the woman also died.
So in the resurrection which of them will have her as wife? Since all seven had her as a wife.
Jesus replied to them, The children of this world get married and are given away in marriage:
But those who are considered deserving of obtaining that world and resurrection from the dead do not get married or given away in marriage:
They cannot die any more: for they are equal to the angels; and are the children of God, being offspring of the resurrection.
Concerning the dead being raised, even Moses revealed this at the bush, when he called the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all are alive to him.
Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, you have well said.
And after that they dared not ask him any [question at all].
And he said to them, How say they that Christ is David's son?
And David himself says in the book of Psalms, The LORD [Yahweh] said to my Lord, Sit you on my right hand,
Till I make your enemies your footstool.
David therefore calls him Lord, how is he then his son?
Then in the audience of all the people he said to his disciples,
Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
Which devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: the same will receive greater damnation.
