Now he said also to his disciples, There was a certain rich man, who had a manager; and this man had been accused of wasting his goods.
So he called him, and said to him, What is this that I am hearing about you? Submit a full administrative report, for you may not be holding the position of manager for much longer.
The manager thought to himself, 'What will I do? Because my employer is taking away my job position: I cannot dig and I am ashamed to beg.
I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from management, people will receive me into their homes.
So he called in every one of his employer's debtors, and said to the first, How much do you owe to my employer?
He said, 'A hundred measures of oil.' So he said to him, 'Take your bill, and sit down quickly, and write it down as fifty.'
Then said he to another, 'And how much do you owe?' He said, 'A hundred measures of wheat.' So he told him, 'Take your bill, and write it down as eighty.'
Then the employer praised the crooked manager, since he had acted wisely: because the children of this age have a wisdom towards their own kind that is greater than that of the children of the light.
Therefore I tell you, 'Make friends out of worldly things; so that, whenever you run out, there will always be a place for you to go to.'
One who is faithful in little things is also faithful in big things: and the one who is crooked in little things is also crooked in big things.
So if you have not been trustworthy in the things of this world, who will trust you with the real things?
And if you have not been trustworthy with what belongs to someone else, who will give you your own things?
No servant can work for two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will be loyal to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and things.
And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
And he said to them, You are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
The law and the prophets [were] until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presses into it.
And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
Whosoever puts away his wife, and marries another, commits adultery: and whoever marries her that is put away from [her] husband commits adultery.

- ADULTERY
There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your [zoe] lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from here to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that [would come] from there.
Then he said, I pray you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house:
For I have five brothers; that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
And he said, No, father Abraham: but if one went to them from the dead, they would repent.
And he said to him, If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
