Bible Text (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]
Meanwhile, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, so many that they trod upon one another, he began to say unto his disciples, first of all, Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
For there is nothing covered, that will not be revealed; neither hidden, that will not be known.
Therefore, whatever you have spoken in darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken behind closed doors will be proclaimed upon the housetops.
And I am telling you my friends, Do not be afraid of those that kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do.
But I will tell you whom you should fear: Fear him, who, after he has killed, has the power to cast into hell; yes, I am telling you, be afraid of him.
Are five sparrows not sold for two farthings, and yet not one of them is forgotten by God?
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows.
Also, I say to you, Whoever confesses me before men and women, the Son of man will also confess them before the angels of God:
But the one that denies me before men and women will be denied before the angels of God.
And whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him: but to the one that slanders the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven.
And when they bring you into the synagogues, and magistrates, and powers, do not be concerned about how to answer or what to say:
For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that point in time what you should say.
And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, and tell him to divide the inheritance with me.
And he said to him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
And he said unto them, Take note and beware of selfish greed: for a person's life is not based on the abundance of the things that he possesses.
And he told them a parable, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth in abundance:
And he pondered over this, thinking to himself, What should I do, because I have no room to store all my produce?
Then he concluded, This is what I will do: I will pull down my barns, and rebuild them bigger, and there I will store all my produce and my goods.
And I will say to myself, "You have plenty of provisions laid up for many years; take it easy, eat, drink, and have fun".
But God said to him, How foolish, this very night your life could be taken away from you: then who will have what you put together?
This is what happens when someone stores up wealth for themselves and is not rich toward God.
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say to you, Do not be concerned about your life, what you will eat; nor for the body, what you will put on.

Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; who do not have a storehouse or barn; yet God feeds them: how much more important are you than the fowls?
And which of you, through concentrated thinking, can add an inch to his height?
If you then are not able to do the least, why are concerned about the rest?
Consider how the lilies grow: they do not work, they do not spin, and yet let me tell you, Solomon, in all his glory, was not clothed like one of these.
If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field, and to morrow is thrown into the oven; how much more [will he clothe] you, O you of little faith?
And do not continually look for what you should eat or what you should drink, neither let your mind be filled with doubt.
These are the things that unbelievers chase after: and your Father knows that you need these things.
But rather concentrate on making God the king of your life; and all of these will be added to you.
Do not be afraid, little flock, for the Father takes pleasure in giving you the kingdom.
Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
For where your treasure is, that is where your heart will be.
Let your waist be tied up with a belt and your heart aflame;
And you be like someone who is waiting for their Lord, so that when he returns from the wedding; and he comes and knocks, you may open to him immediately.
Blessed [are] those servants, whom the lord when he comes will find waiting in anticipation: let me tell you, he will put on an apron, and make them sit down to a meal, and will come out and serve them.
And if he should come between 9 and 10 at night, or even after midnight, and finds them like that, then those servants will be blessed.
You can be sure that if the head of a home had known what time the thief would come, he would have been ready and waiting and not have allowed his home to be broken into.
Therefore, you should also be ready, for the Son of man is coming at a time you did not expect.
Then Peter said to him, Lord, are applying this parable to us or to everyone??
The Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise servant, to whom his lord will make a ruler over his household, and give a portion of food at the right time?

Blessed [is] the servant, whom his master finds behaving like this when he comes.
Let me tell you; he will put him in charge of everything he owns.
However, if that servant should say in his heart, My master is delaying his coming and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink, and become drunk;
The master of that servant will come on a date when he is not expecting him and at a time when he is not aware, cut him in two and allocate his part to those who do not believe.
And that servant who knew what his master wanted and did not prepare himself or do what he wanted will receive many beatings.
But the one who did not know and did things deserving of a beating will receive a lesser beating. For to whom much is given, much will be required: and more will be expected from someone who has been entrusted with much.
I came to pour out fire on the earth; and what will I do if it has already been lit?
But I have a baptism to be repeatedly immersed in and I am under pressure until it is complete!
Do you suppose I have come to give peace on earth? I tell you, no way, but rather separation:
From now on, there will be five in one house separated, three against two, and two against three.
A father will be against the son and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
He also said to the people, When you see a cloud rise out of the west, you immediately say, There is a storm coming; and that is what happens.
And when the south wind blows, you say, It is going to be hot; and it happens.
Hypocrites, you can identify the appearance of the sky and of the earth, but how is it that you do not identify this [kairos] point in time?

Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, [as thou art] in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
