The introduction to the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
As it was written by the prophets, Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your road right in front of you.
A voice crying out in the desert, Make ready the way of the Lord, make his paths straight and level.
John baptized in the desert, and was preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
And the whole of the Judaean region and Jerusalem went out to him, and were all being baptized by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.
Now John was wearing camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and he was living on locusts and wild honey;
And he was preaching, saying, Someone is following after me that is more powerful than I, whose shoe laces I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
I have certainly immersed you in water: but he will immerse you in the Holy Spirit.
And it so happened during that time period, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
And immediately on coming up out of the water, he saw the skies being torn apart, and the Spirit like a dove coming down onto him:
And a voice came out of the heavens saying, You are the Son that I love, I am very pleased with you.
And immediately the Spirit compelled him to go into the desert.
And he was there in the desert for forty days, being tempted by Satan; and was amongst wild animals; but the angels took care of him.
- ANGELS
Then after John had been put into prison, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the good news about God's kingdom,
And saying, The [kairos] time has been completed, and the kingdom of God has arrived: repent, and believe the good news.
- KAIROS - TIME
Now as he was walking by the sea of Galilee, he noticed Simon and Andrew his brother throwing a net into the sea: for they were fishermen.
And Jesus said to them, Come follow me, and I will cause you to become fishers of men.
And immediately they left their nets behind, and followed him.
And when he had gone a little further on from there, he saw James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in a ship repairing their nets.
And he called to them right away: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went off after him.
And they went into Capernaum; and right away on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and began to teach.
And they were astonished at his teaching: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
- AUTHORITY AND SPEECH
And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
Saying, Leave [us] alone; what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? have you come to destroy us? I know you [and] who you are, the Holy One of God.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him.
And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
And they were all amazed, so much so that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is this? what new teaching [is] this? for with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.
- AUTHORITY AND SPEECH
And immediately his fame spread publicly throughout all the region round about Galilee.
And immediately, when they had left the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and so they told him about her.
And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she attended to them.
And in the evening, when the sun set, they brought to him all that were diseased, and those that were possessed with devils.
And all the city was gathered together at the door.
And he healed many that were sick of various diseases, and cast out many devils; and did not allow the devils to speak, because they knew him.
Demons know when you have authority over them

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and prayed there.
And Simon and those that were with him followed after him.
And when they had found him, they said to him, Everyone is looking for you.
And he said to them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for this is why I came.
And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.
And a leper came to him, begging him, and kneeling down to him, and saying to him, If you want to, you can make me clean.
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth [his] hand, and touched him, and said to him, I want to; you be clean.
And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
And he sternly warned him, and immediately sent him away;
And said to him, See that you say nothing to anyone: but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
But he went out, and began to publish [it] a lot, and to spread the story everywhere, so much so that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was outside in deserted places: and they came to him from every quarter.
