And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and count the stars, if you be able to number them: and he said to him, So will your seed be.

That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand that [is] upon the sea shore; and your seed will possess the gate of his enemies;

And you said, I will surely do you good, and make your seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, [so many] as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
