Why do your disciples violate the tradition of the elders? because they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.

For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash [their] hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.

And was advancing in the Jews' religion above many of my equals in my own nation, being much more zealous for the traditions of my ancestors.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Therefore, brothers, persevere and continue to hang onto the principles which you have been taught, whether through the Word, or by means of our letter.

Now we command you, brother and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you draw back from every brother or sister that goes their own way, and does not keep to the tradition that they received from us.

As much as you know that you were not bought back with corruptible things, [like] silver and gold, from your unsuccessful and useless way of life [received] by inheritance from your forefathers;
