CLAIMS TO FAME: The only book of prophecy in the New Testament
PROBLEMS OR ISSUES THIS BOOK IS ADDRESSING:
The Book of Revelation is primarily addressing the end of times surrounding the coming of Jesus back
to earth.
MOST FAMOUS VERSES:
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat
with them, and they with me. Revelation 3:20
Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth," for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and
there was no longer any sea. Revelation 21:1
Important points about the Book:
• The Apostle John is very old by the time he wrote this book. In fact, he was the only disciple who
hadn't died. He was in prison on an island called Patmos, which is like an ugly giant rock in the middle
of the Adriatic Sea.
While there, he experienced the visions that are contained in the Book of Revelation. They concern the
end times and all the good and bad things that will happen. The book is full of symbols and visions that
are hard to understand. That's because it isn't time to understand them yet.
• The book shows visions about a seven-year tribulation or "hard time” that will come upon the earth, and
after that, Jesus will return. He invites everyone to be part of his new heaven and new earth who want
to be with him.
