PROBLEMS OR ISSUES THIS BOOK IS ADDRESSING:
MOST FAMOUS VERSES:
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us
timid, but gives us power, love and
self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
• This book was the second written to
Paul's young disciple Timothy. From the
serious nature of this letter, it seems
that Paul knew that his work was done
and that his life was nearly at an end.
Paul was arrested by the Roman
Emperor Nero during the time when
Nero was being very mean. Paul was
martyred, which means he gave up his
life for Christ. Nero had him
decapitated.
Do your best to present yourself to God as one
approved, a worker who does not need to be
ashamed and who correctly handles the word of
truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
Important points about the Book:
Paul begins this letter with encouragement for Timothy. Paul is very old and he wants to get in
some final instructions and words of encouragement. He reminds Timothy to follow his
example and to be steadfast in the trials to come. Paul ends the letter by asking Timothy to
visit him because he is very old and would like to see him again before he dies.
