PROBLEMS OR ISSUES THIS BOOK IS ADDRESSING:
MOST FAMOUS VERSES:
• The letter was addressed to Paul's
young disciple Timothy, who may have
been experiencing some burnout as
most pastors do at times. Paul is
encouraging him and advising him.
Don't let anyone look down on you because you
are young, but set an example for the believers
in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in
purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of
evil. Some people, eager for money, have
wandered from the faith and pierced themselves
with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:10
Important Points about the Book:
• Paul begins 1 Timothy by encouraging him to fight the good fight and not to let his young age
be a hindrance.
He then gives instructions for Timothy about leadership and managing all of the different
situations he will encounter in the church community. These passages have been used over the
centuries to train people in church leadership.
