PROBLEMS OR ISSUES THIS BOOK IS ADDRESSING:
MOST FAMOUS VERSES:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every
situation, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6
• The Apostle Paul did not write
Philippians to address a crisis, like he
did with other letters. Instead, he wrote
to express his appreciation and
affection for the believers in the church
of Philippi. More than any other church,
the people offered Paul support for his
ministry in payments, gifts, and comfort.
I can do all this through him who gives me
strength. Philippians 4:13
"He who began a good work in you will perfect
it until the day of Christ Jesus" Philippians 1:6
Important points about the Book:
This book begins with Paul describing his imprisonment and the situation in Rome. He is under
house arrest while writing this and three other epistles. He explains that he believes he will be
delivered, and goes on to encourage the church of Philippi to live lives worthy of the gospel.
Lastly, he explains that he is sending Timothy to them and wishes them blessings and peace,
warning against legalism.
