The greatest weapon the enemy can use against us is negative words from other people. That is what David was referring to in this passage:
Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue [that] will rise against you in judgment you will condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD [Yahweh], and their righteousness [is] of me, says the LORD [Yahweh]. [GBMV]

8 So they shall make their own tongue <03956> to fall <03782> (8686) upon themselves: all that see <07200> (8802) them shall flee away <05074> (8709).
We can send their curses back at them, so that they are affected instead of us.
