1 But you must keep speaking the things that are fitting for sound teaching.
2 That the older men be sober, grave, self-controlled, sound in faith, in [agape] love, in endurance.
- AGAPE - DIVINE LOVE
- AGAPE - DIVINE LOVE
3 The older women likewise, in a demeanour that reflects holiness, not slanderers, not addicted to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may disciple the young women, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 [To be] self-controlled, chaste, homemakers, pleasant, subject to their own husbands, that the word of God is not slandered.
6 In the same way, encourage young men to be self-controlled.
7 In all things presenting yourself as a model of good deeds: by teaching with integrity, dignity and sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; so that our opponents may be ashamed, having nothing bad to say about us.
9 Servants are to be subject to their own masters in everything, ready to please; not back chatting;
10 Not secretly stealing, but demonstrating all good faithfulness; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all of mankind,
12 Teaching us that, rejecting disrespect [for God] and worldly cravings, we should enjoy real life, thinking soundly, doing what is right, and being godly, in this present age;
Grace is never an excuse for sin. Grace encourages righteous living.
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ;
- HOPE
- HOPE
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a select people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and encourage, and correct with all authority. Let nobody put you down.
