But concerning how long before [chronos] and at what point in time [kairos] , brothers, you don't need me to record in writing for you.

For you are already fully aware that the day of the Lord is coming in the same way as a thief in the night.
For while they are saying, Peace and security; that is when sudden destruction comes upon them, in the same way as labor pains in a pregnant woman; and there is no escape.
But you, brothers, are not in the dark, for that day to catch you by surprise like a thief.
You are all children of the light, and children of the day: we are not subject to the night time or darkness.
So let us not be in a state of sleep like everybody else; but let us be alert and on guard.
For those who sleep do so at night; and those who get drunk do so at night.
But let us, who are day persons, be calm and collected, having clothed ourselves with the corset of faith and [agape] love; and for a head covering, the confident expectation of salvation.

For God has not set things up for us to experience His vengeance [orge], but to be the possessors of salvation by means of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who died in our place, so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we should live alongside him.
So then motivate and encourage one another, and build each other up, in the same way that you are already doing this.
We also sincerely ask of you, brothers, to recognize those who are wearing themselves out for you, and have been set over you in the Lord, and are counseling [noutheteo] you;
And to put them way above yourself in [agape] love because of what they do. Living together in harmony and free of conflict.

So then we encourage and motivate you, brothers, counsel and correct those who are out of order, encourage the insecure, support the weak, be patient toward everyone.
Ensure that nobody responds wrongly to being wronged; but continually pursue what is good, not only towards one another, but also towards everyone.
Rejoice and continually be glad at all times.
Be in prayer continually without stopping.
Be continually grateful in all circumstances, for this is what God wants for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not put out the fire of the Spirit.
Do not put down the importance of prophetic words.
Test and approve [dokimazo] everything; hold on tightly to what is good.

Stay away from everything that appears to be evil.
May the God of peace Himself cleanse you completely; and may your entire spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
You can rely completely on the one who is calling you to accomplish this.
Brethren, be continually in prayer on our behalf.
Embrace all the brothers with a sanctified kiss.
Promise me before the Lord that this letter will be read to all the holy brothers.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you and yours. So be it. <[The first [epistle] to the Thessalonians was written from Athens.]>
