1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
2 If you have heard of the mandate of the grace of God which was given to me specifically for you:
3 How that by revelation he made known to me the mystery; (as I wrote before in few words,
4 Whereby, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
Paul was given a unique revelation of the church, which remained a mystery to the Jews and Old Testament believer.
5 Which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
This was the mystery the Jews could not grasp - that God would offer the Gentiles the same benefits of the Gospel.
7 Of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effectual working of his power.
God called Paul to be a minister, and he received a mantle that carried God's power. This was given in grace - it was not earned or deserved.
8 To me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9 And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hidden in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
10 In order that now to the principalities and authorities in heavenly [places] might be known by means of the church the multifaceted wisdom of God,
11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
This was God's original plan with the coming of Jesus into the world.
12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
When we have faith, it gives us boldness and confidence in His presence and power. But this faith comes from him, not from ourselves.
13 Therefore I desire that you faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
14 For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 From whom the whole family in heaven and earth receives its name,
The father gives his name to the rest of the family. So God as our Father has given us the right to be part of His family and to carry His Name.
16 That he would cause you, out of the wealth of his glory, to be made strong with the dynamic power of ability [dunamis] by his Spirit in the inner man;
This refers to the external anointing. But it says we can have this inside of us and not just on the outside.

17 Causing Christ [The Anointed One] to take up residence in your hearts through faith; that you, having been rooted and established in [agape] love,
Jesus is resident in us with all He had when He walked this earth. This comes by faith, but it is established with love, which makes it active. His present in us comes by faith. But we manifest His presence with love.

18 May be able to fully grasp with all the saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know (intimately) the [agape] love of Christ, which transcends human understanding, that you may become filled up with all the abundance of God.
His presence in us causes us to be filled with everything He has to offer. It is revealed through an intimate experience of His love.

20 Now to him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
The power resident in us can do far more than we realize. We can tap that resource any time to see Him work.

21 To him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
