Bible Text  (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]

Moreover, brothers, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you have received, and in which you stand;
By which also you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached to you, unless you have believed in vain.
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
After that, he was seen of above five hundred brothers at once; of whom the greater part remain to this present, but some are fallen asleep.
After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
For I am the least of the apostles, that am not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace directed towards me was not a waste of time; but I worked harder than all of them: yet not me, but the grace of God that was with me.
Therefore whether [it were] I or they, so we preach, and so you believed.
Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
And if Christ be not risen, then [is] our preaching vain, and your faith [is] also vain.
Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
And if Christ be not raised, your faith [is] vain; you are yet in your sins.
Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
If in this [zoe] life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
- HOPE
But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept.
For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ will all be made alive.
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
Then [comes] the end, when he will have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he will have put down all rule and all authority and [dynamic] power.
For he must reign, till he has put all enemies under his feet.
The last enemy [that] will be destroyed [is] death.
For he has put all things under his feet. But when he says all things are put under [him, it is] manifest that he is excepted, which put all things under him.
And when all things will be subdued to him, then will the Son also himself be subject to him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Else what will they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?
And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what benefits it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.
Do not be deceived: bad companions corrupt good character.
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak [this] to your shame.
But some [man] will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
[You] fool, that which you sow is not brought to life, unless it dies:
And that which you sow, you do not sow the body that will be, but [you sow] bare grain, it could be of wheat, or of some other [grain]:
But God gives it a body as it has pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
All flesh [is] not the same flesh: but [there is] one [kind of] flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, [and] another of birds.
[There are] also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial [is] one, and the [glory] of the terrestrial [is] another.
[There is] one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for [one] star differs from [another] star in glory.
So also [is] the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in [dynamic] power:
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a life-giving spirit.
Yet the spiritual did not come first, but the natural [soulish]; and then after that the spiritual.
The first man was from the ground and made of earth: the second man [the Lord] was from heaven.
Those that are made of earth are earthly [in nature], but those who are from heaven are heavenly [in nature].
And as we have borne the image of the earthly [man], we will also bear the image of the heavenly one.
Now this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither does what is perishable inherit what is imperishable.
See, I am telling you a secret; We will not all sleep [in death], but we will all be transformed,
In a split second, in the blinking of an eye, at the final trumpet: for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be transformed.
For this perishable must be clothed with imperishability, and this mortal [must] be clothed with immortality.
So when this perishable [body] will have become clothed with imperishability, and this mortal [body] will have been clothed with immortality, then will be the fulfillment of the words that were written, Death is devoured in victory.
O death, where [is] your sting? O hades, where [is] your victory?
The sting of death [is] sin; and the [dynamic] power of sin [is] the law.
But thanks [be] to God, who [continually] gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, you should [continually] be firm, unmoveable, at all times [continually] overflowing in the work of the Lord, because you know that your effort is not a waste of time in the Lord.
