Bible Text  (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]

Be imitators of me, even as I also [am] of Christ.
Now I praise you, brothers and sisters, that you remember me in all things, and keep the principles, as I delivered [them] to you.
But I would have you [to] know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God.
Every man praying or prophesying, having [his] head covered, dishonors his head.
But every woman that prays or prophesies with [her] head uncovered dishonors her head: for that is just the same as if she were shaved.
For if the woman is not covered, let her also have her hair cut short: but if it is a shame for a woman to have short hair or to be shaved, let her be covered.
For a man indeed ought not to cover [his] head, since he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
For the man did not come from the woman; but the woman from the man.
Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
For this reason the woman ought to have authority over [her] head because of the angels.
- ANGELS
Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, nor the woman without the man, in the Lord.
For as the woman [came] from the man, even so the man [exists] also through the woman; but all things are from God.
Judge for yourselves: is it proper that a woman prays to God uncovered?
Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair it is a shame to him?
But if a woman has long hair, it is a honor to her: for [her] hair is given [to] her for a covering.
But if anyone wants to argue, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.
Now in what I am declaring [to you] I do not praise [you], since you come together not for the better, but for the worse.
For first of all, when you come together in the church, I hear that there are divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
For it is necessary that there are separations among you, so that those who have been approved [dokimazo] may be made known among you.
- DOKIMAZO - TEST
When you come together therefore into one place, [it] is not to eat the Lord's supper.
For while eating every one takes his own supper before [the other]: and one is hungry, and another is drunk.
What? Do you not have houses to eat and to drink in? or do you despise the church of God, and shame those that do not have? What will I say to you? will I praise you in this? I do not praise [you].
For I have received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, That the Lord Jesus the [same] night in which he was betrayed took bread:
And when he had given thanks, he broke [it], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
In the same way also [he took] the cup, when he had eaten, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do, whenever you drink [it], in remembrance of me.
For whenever you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
Therefore whoever will eat this bread, and drink [this] cup of the Lord, irreverently, will be liable for the body and blood of the Lord.
But let a man test [and approve] [dokimazo] himself, and so let him eat of [that] bread, and drink of [that] cup.
- DOKIMAZO - TEST
For he that eats and drinks irreverently, eats and drinks condemnation to himself, not distinguishing the Lord's body.
For this reason many [are] weak and sickly among you, and many are asleep.
For if we would pass judgement on ourselves, we would not be [subject to] judgement.
But when we are judged, we are instructed by the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for each other.
And if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home; that you do not come together to be condemned. And the rest I will set in order when I come.
