Bible Text  (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]  [Read Bible Only]

Moreover, brothers, I don't want you to be ignorant, concerning the fact that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
- CLOUD - GLORY
And were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
- CLOUD - GLORY
And all ate the same spiritual food;
And all drank the same spiritual drink: for they drank from that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
But with many of them God was not very pleased: for they were slain in the wilderness.
Now these things were our models, to show us that we should not crave after evil things, as they also did.
Nor be idolaters, as some of them [were]; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
Nor let us commit sexual sin, as some of them did, and in one day twenty three thousand fell.
Nor let us test Christ, as some of them also tested [Him], and were destroyed by serpents.
Nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
Now all these things happened to them as models: and they are written for our counsel and instruction, upon whom the ends of the age have come.
Therefore let him that thinks he is standing be careful lest he fall.
No temptation [peirazo] has ever taken hold of you that was unique to mankind: and you can trust God to not allow you to be tested [peirazo] beyond what you are capable of; but He will, along with the test [peirazo], also make a way to escape, so that you are able to endure it.
- PEIRAZO - TEST
Therefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
I am speaking as to wise ones; you judge what I say.
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
For we [being] many are one bread, [and] one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
Look at Israel from a physical viewpoint: are not those that eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
What am I saying then? that an idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
But I [say], that the things that the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I don't want you to have fellowship with demons.
We should not be communicating with demons. This is an occult practice and believers should never do it.
- FELLOWSHIP

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: you cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of demons.
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
All things are lawful for me, but not all things are of benefit: all things are lawful for me, but not all things build up.
Let no one seek his own, but every one another's [good].
Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no question because of conscience:
For the earth [is] the Lord's, and all of its fullness.
If any of those that do not believe invite you [to a meal], and you want to go; eat whatever is set before you, asking no question because of conscience.
But if any one says to you, This is offered in sacrifice to idols, do not eat it for the benefit of the one who told you, and because of conscience: for the earth [is] the Lord's, and the fullness of it:
Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other person's: for why is my freedom judged by another [man's] conscience?
For if I by grace am a partaker, why am I criticised for that for which I give thanks?
Therefore whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Give no offence, not to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
Even as I please all [men] in all [things], not seeking my own gain, but the [gain] of many, that they may be saved.
