Bible Text  (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him.
Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was near.
His brothers therefore said to him, Why don't you leave, and go to Judea, so that your disciples also can see the works that you are doing.
For [there is] no one [that] does anything secretly, whilst he himself is wanting to be known publicly. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.
For even his brothers did not believe in him.
Then Jesus said to them, My [kairos] time has not yet come: but your [kairos] time is always ready.
- KAIROS - TIME
The world cannot hate you; but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil.
You go up to this feast: I am not going up yet to this feast; for my [kairos] time has not yet fully come.
- KAIROS - TIME
When he had said these words to them, he remained [still] in Galilee.
But when his brothers had gone up, then he went also up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
And there was a lot of gossiping among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, No; he is deceiving the people.
However no one spoke openly about him for fear of the Jews.
Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
And the Jews were amazed, saying, How does this man have intellectual knowledge, not being educated?
Jesus answered them, and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me.
If any one is willing do his will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God, or [whether] I speak from myself.
- TEACHING OFFICE
He that speaks from himself seeks his own glory: but he that seeks the glory of the one that sent him, this person is true, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
Did Moses not give you the law, and [yet] none of you keep the law? Why are you seeking to kill me?
The people answered and said, You have a demon: who is seeking to kill you?
Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one work, and you are all amazed.
Moses therefore gave to you circumcision; (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers;) and you on the Sabbath day circumcise a man.
If a man on the Sabbath day receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses should not be broken; are you angry at me, because I have made a man completely well on the Sabbath day?
Do not pass judgement according to appearances, but pass righteous judgement.
Then some of those from Jerusalem said, Is this not he, whom they seek to kill?
But, look, he is speaking boldly, and they say nothing to him. Do the rulers really know that this is actually the Christ?
However we know where this man comes from: but when Christ comes, no one will know where he comes from.
Then Jesus cried out in the temple as he taught, saying, You not only know me, but you know where I come from: and I have not come by myself, but he that sent me is true, whom you do not know.
But I know him: for I am from him, and he has sent me.
Then they sought to seize him: but no one laid hands on him, because his hour had not yet come.
And many of the people believed in him, and said, When Christ comes, would he do more miracles than these which this [man] has done?
The Pharisees heard that the people were murmuring such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to seize him.
Then Jesus said to them, I will only be with you a little [chronos] longer, and [then] I am going to him that sent me.
- CHRONOS - TIME
You will look for me, and will not find [me]: and where I am, [there] you cannot come.
Then the Jews said among themselves, Where will he go to, that we will not find him? will he go to those scattered amongst the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
What [kind of] statement is this that he made, You will look for me, and will not find [me]: and where I am, [there] you cannot come?
On the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If any one is thirsty, let him come to me, and drink.
He that believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his inward parts will flow rivers of living water.
(But he was referring to the Spirit, which those that believe in him would receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet [given]; because Jesus was not yet glorified.)
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this statement, said, This truly must be the Prophet.
Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Will Christ come from Galilee?
Has the scripture not said, That Christ comes from the seed of David, and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
So there was a split among the people because of him.
And some of them wanted to seize him; but no one laid hands on him.
Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said to them, Why have you not brought him?
The officers answered, No one ever spoke like this man.
Then the Pharisees answered them, Have you also been deceived?
Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him?
But these people who do not know the law are cursed.
Nicodemus said to them, (he that came to Jesus at night, being one of them,)
Does our law pass judgement on [any] man, before it hears him out, and knows what he is doing?
They answered and said to him, Are you also from Galilee? Search, and look: for no prophet [is due to] rise up out of Galilee.
And every man went to his own house.
