Bible Text (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]
Then six days before the Passover Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of those that sat at the table with him.
Then Mary took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's [son], who was due to betray him, said,
Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
This he said, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the [money] bag, and took out what was put in it.
Then Jesus said, Leave her alone: she has reserved this in preparation for the day of my burial.
For the poor you will always have with you; but me you will not always have.
Many people from the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they did not come because of Jesus only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
But the chief priests plotted that they might put Lazarus also to death;
Because that as a result of him many of the Jews went away, and believed in Jesus.
On the next day many people that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
Took branches from palm trees, and went out to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed [is] the King of Israel that comes in the name of the Lord.
And Jesus, when he had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written,
Fear not, daughter of Zion: behold, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt.
His disciples did not understand these things at first: but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written concerning him, and [that] they had done these things to him.
The people therefore that were with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, spread the word.
Because of this the people also met him, because they had heard that he had done this miracle.
The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Can you see that you are accomplishing nothing? look, the [whole] world has gone after him.
And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
These came therefore to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and requested of him, saying, Sir, we want to see Jesus.
Philip came and told Andrew: and Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus.
And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour has come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
Most assuredly, I say to you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone: but if it dies, it produces much fruit.
He that loves his [psuche] life will lose it; and he that hates his [psuche] life in this world will keep it [leading] to eternal [zoe] life.

If any man serves me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also will my servant be: if any man serves me, [my] Father will honor him.
Now my soul is disturbed; and what should I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this purpose I came to this hour.
Father, glorify your name. Then there came a voice from heaven, [saying], I have both glorified [it], and will glorify [it] again.
The people therefore, that stood by, and heard [it], said that it thundered: others said, An angel spoke to him.

Jesus answered and said, This voice did not come because of me, but for your benefit.
Now is the judgement of this world: now will the chief ruler of this world be cast out.
And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] to me.
This he said, indicating what [kind of] death he would die.
The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ remains forever: so how can you say, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
Then Jesus said to them, The light will only be with you a little [chronos] longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness comes upon you: for he that walks in darkness does not know where he is going.

While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be the children of light. These things Jesus said, and [then] left, and hid himself from them.
But though he had done so many miracles in front of them, yet they did not believe in him:
That the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who has believed our report? and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah had said further,
He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with [their] eyes, nor understand with [their] heart, and be turned back, and I should heal them.
These things Isaiah said, when he saw His glory, and spoke about Him.
Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed in Him; but because of the Pharisees they did not [openly] acknowledge [Him], lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Jesus cried [out] and said, He that believes in me, does not believe in me, but in Him that sent me.
And he that sees me sees Him that sent me.
I have come [as] a light into the world, that whoever believes in me should not remain in darkness.
And if any man listens to my [rhema] words, and does not believe, I do not condemn him: for I did not come to condemn the world, but to save the world.

He that rejects me, and does not receive my [rhema] words, has one [thing] that condemns him: the [logos] word that I have spoken, [is that which] will condemn him in the end times.

For I have not spoken from myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me a directive, what I should say, and what I should speak.
And I know that his directive is [zoe] life everlasting: therefore whatever I speak, just as the Father said [it] to me, that is how I speak.
