Bible Text  (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]  [Read Bible Only]

1 Most assuredly, I say to you, He that does not enter through the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that enters in through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
- PASTORS
3 To him the doorkeeper opens; and the sheep listen to his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.
4 And when he puts out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5 And a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him: for they do not know the voice of strangers.
6 This parable Jesus spoke to them: but they did not understood what He was trying to say to them.
7 Then said Jesus to them again, Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not listen to them.
9 I am the door: if any man enters in through me, he will be saved, and will go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief comes to do nothing but steal, kill and destroy: I came so that they may continually possess [zoe] life, and have [it] in far greater measure.
The enemy brings a curse with its three manifestations - theft, strife and destruction.
Jesus brings blessing with different manifestations - zoe life in greater measure.

- ABUNDANT LIFE - GOOD NEWS - PROVISION

11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his [psuche] life for the sheep.
- PASTORS - PSUCHE - SOUL LIFE
12 But he that is a hired hand, and not the shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees: and the wolf catches them, and scatters the sheep.
- PASTORS
13 The hired hand flees, because he is a hired hand, and does not care for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and [intimately] know my [sheep], and am known [intimately] by my [sheep].
Our relationship with Jesus is as intimate as the sexual union
- PASTORS

15 As the Father knows me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my [psuche] life for the sheep.
- PSUCHE - SOUL LIFE
16 And I have other sheep, which are not from this fold: them I must also bring, and they will hear my voice; and there will be one fold, [and] one shepherd.
This refers to believers in all nations and not only the Jews

17 Therefore my Father loves me, because I lay down my [psuche] life, that I might take it [up] again.
- PSUCHE - SOUL LIFE
18 No man takes it from me, but I lay it down by myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it [up] again. This commandment I have received from my Father.
19 There was a split therefore again amongst the Jews because of these sayings.
20 And many of them said, He has a demon, and is mad; why do you listen to him?
21 Others said, These are not the [rhema] words of him that has a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?
- RHEMA - WORD
22 And it was at Jerusalem [during] the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
23 And Jesus was walking in the temple in Solomon's porch.
24 Then the Jews gathered around him, and said to him, How long are you going to cause our souls to doubt? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and you did not believe [me]: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness concerning me.
Jesus did things in His Father’s Name but He never once mouthed the words ‘In the name of the Father’

26 But you do not believe, because you are not [part] of my sheep, as I said to you.
27 My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I continually give to them eternal [zoe] life; and they will never [double negative] perish, neither will anyone pluck them out of my hand.
Eternal life is given continually, not just at the end of life. Eternal life is the very nature of Jesus, who resides in us by His Spirit.
- GOOD NEWS - ETERNAL LIFE - ETERNAL SECURITY

29 My Father, who gave [them to] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father's hand.
- ETERNAL SECURITY
30 I and [my] Father are one.

31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, I have showed you many good works from my Father; for which of those works are you stoning me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, We are not stoning you because of a good work; but for blasphemy; and because you, being a man, are making yourself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, You are gods?
35 If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Do you say of him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world, You are blaspheming; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37 If I do not [perform] the works of my Father, do not believe me.
38 But if I do, though you do not believe me, believe the works: that you might know, and believe, that the Father [is] in me, and I in him.
39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,
40 And went away again beyond Jordan to the place where John had baptised at the beginning; and there he stayed.
41 And many went out to him, and said, John performed no miracles: but all [the] things that John spoke concerning this man were true.
42 And many believed in him there.
