Bible Text (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]  [Read Bible Only]
And when he had called to himself his twelve disciples, he gave them authority [over] unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.
Deliverance and healing always go together. Notice that sickness and disease are always listed separately. This covers every kind of physical problem, whether it is a known disease or not. Notice that the healing power embraced all kinds of sickness and disease and not just one major problem. A healing ministry should not specialize in one disease.

Now the names of the twelve apostles were these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James [the son] of Zebedee, and John his brother;
Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax collector; James [the son] of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
These twelve Jesus sent out, and commanded them, saying, Do not go not into the area of the Gentiles, and do not enter into [any] city of the Samaritans:
Jesus' original ministry was only to Jews, who were God's chosen people. This needs to be always kept in mind where His teaching in the Gospels is concerned. Today the Gospel is for everyone and not just for Jews.
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons: freely you have received, freely give.
Take no gold, or silver, or brass in your purses,
Nor a food bag for [your] journey, nor two coats, nor shoes, not even staffs: for the workman deserves his food.
And into whichever city or town you will enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and remain there until you leave.
And when you come into a home, greet it.
And if the home is worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
And whoever will not receive you, nor hear your words, when you leave that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
Truly I say to you, It will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgement, than for that city.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will beat you in their synagogues;
And you will be brought before governors and kings because of me, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
But when they take you into custody, do not be concerned about how or what you will speak: for it will be given you at that time what you should say.
For it is not you that will be speaking, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
And a brother will surrender a brother to death, and a father his child: and the children will rise up against [their] parents, and cause them to be put to death.
And you will be hated by all [men] because of my name: but he that perseveres to the end will be saved.
But when they persecute you in this city, flee into another: for truly I am telling you, You will not have gone through all the cities of Israel, before the Son of man has come.
It is enough for the disciple that he be like his master, and the slave like his owner. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more those of his household?
Do not be afraid of them therefore: for there is nothing covered, that will not be revealed; and hidden, that will not be known.
What I tell you in darkness, [that] you speak in light: and what you hear [whispered] in the ear, [that] you preach upon the housetops.
And do not be afraid of those that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather be afraid of him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Are two sparrows not sold for a farthing? and not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father [knowing it].
And the hairs on your head have all been given a specific number.
Do not be afraid therefore, you are more valuable than many sparrows.
Whoever therefore will confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father who is in heaven.
But whoever will deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Do not think that I have come to send peace on earth: I did not come to send peace, but a sword.
For I have come to bring division between a man and his father, and the daughter and her mother, and the daughter in law and her mother in law.
And a man's enemies [will be] those from his own home.
He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
And he that does not take his cross, and follow after me, is not worthy of me.
He that finds his [psuche] life will lose it: and he that loses his [psuche] life on account of me will find it.

He that receives you receives me, and he that receives me receives him that sent me.
He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward; and he that receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward.
And whoever will give to one of these little ones just a cup of cold [water] to drink on behalf of a disciple, truly I say to you, he will under no circumstances [double negative] lose his reward.
