The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Abraham fathered Isaac; and Isaac fathered Jacob; and Jacob fathered Judah and his brothers;
And Judah fathered Pharez and Zarah from Tamar; and Pharez fathered Hezron; and Hezron fathered Ram;
Tamar became pregnant from her father in law

And Ram fathered Amminadab; and Aminadab fathered Nahshon; and Nahshon fathered Salmon;
And Salmon fathered Boaz from Rahab; and Boaz fathered Obed of Ruth; and Obed fathered Jesse;
Rahab was a prostitute who hid the spies that Joshua sent. Her faith put her in Jesus geneology

Ruth was a foreigner who was not even an Israelite, but because of her faith she became part of Jesus line.

And Jesse fathered David the king; and David the king fathered Solomon from the woman that was Uriah's wife;
Bath sheba was the woman David slept with and then had her husband killed. The first child died, but the next continued Jesus line

And Solomon fathered Rehoboam; and Rehoboam fathered Abijah; and Abijah fathered Asa;
And Asa fathered Jehoshaphat; and Jehoshaphat fathered Jehoram; and Jehoram fathered Uzziah;
And Uzziah fathered Jotham and Jotham fathered Ahaz; and Ahaz fathered Hezekiah;
And Hezekiah fathered Manasseh; and Manasseh fathered Amon; and Amon fathered Josiah;
And Josiah fathered Jehoichin and his brothers, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
And after they were brought to Babylon, Jehoichin fathered Shealtiel; and Shealtiel fathered Zerubbabel;
And Zerubbabel fathered Abiud; and Abiud fathered Eliakim; and Eliakim fathered Azor;
And Azor fathered Zadok; and Zadok fathered Achim; and Achim fathered Eliud;
And Eliud fathered Eleazar; and Eleazar fathered Matthan; and Matthan fathered Jacob;
And Jacob fathered Joseph the husband of Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, who is known as Christ.
Mary was Jesus mother. Mothers are seldom mentioned in geneologies, but in this one, five prominent women are mentioned

So there are fourteen generations from Abraham until David; and from David until the Babylonian exile there are fourteen generations; and from the Babylonian exile up to Christ there are fourteen generations.
Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place like this: His mother Mary was promised in marriage to Joseph, but before they were officially married, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
Then Joseph her husband, being one who always did what was right, and not wanting to expose her to public disgrace, was considering letting her go privately.
But after he had thought about doing this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to make Mary your wife: because what has been conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
- ANGELS - ANGEL MESSENGER
She will give birth to a son, and you will name him JESUS (meaning Jehovah saves): because he will save (deliver, set free) his people from their sins.
Now all this took place, in order to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
A virgin will be pregnant, and will give birth to a son, and they will name him Emmanuel, which translated means, God with us.
Then Joseph, having being woken from his sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had told him, and took her as his wife:
He did not have sexual intercourse with her until she had given birth to her firstborn son: and he gave him the name JESUS.
