My son, stand guard over my words, and store my commandments within you.

Keep my commandments, and live; and keep my law as you would protect the pupil of your eye.
Say to wisdom, You are my sister; and call insight your next of kin:
That they may protect you from the foreign woman, the one who shows you acceptance with her words.
This woman is a picture of the. flesh
For at the window of my house I looked through the lattice,
Noticing some naive people, I detected amongst the immature ones, a young man lacking insight.
Passing through the street near her corner, he went in the direction of her house,
Going from twilight, to evening, to the blackness of the darkest night:
To meet a woman dressed like a prostitute, who hides her true nature.
(She is loud and rebellious; she cannot stand still in one place:
One moment she is outside, the next she is down the street, lying in ambush around every corner.)
So she grabbed him, and kissed him, and putting on a strong front she said to him,
I have a thanksgiving sacrifice (to celebrate with) because today I completed my vow (to the Lord).
So I came out to meet you, to look for your face, and I found you.
I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved [works], with fine linen of Egypt.
I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let's have a wonderful time of love.
For the man of the house is not home, he has gone on a long journey:
He has taken a bag of money with him, [and] will come home at full moon
With her much fair speech she caused him to yield; with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

He goes after her immediately as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
Till a dart strikes through his liver; as a bird hurries to the snare, and does not know that it [is] for his life.
Listen to me now therefore, O you children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
Do not let your heart decline to her ways, do not go astray in her paths.
For she has cast down many wounded: yes, many strong [men] have been slain by her.
Her house [is] the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
