Bible Text  (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]

It is better to be poor and walk in integrity, than to be a fool and have false lips.
Also, it is not good for a person to lack knowledge, because they will rush off and completely miss the mark.
A man's foolishness ruins his life: but in his heart he blames the LORD [Yahweh].
Wealth adds many friends; but the poor is separated from his friend.
A lying witness will not be exempt from punishment, the one who breathes out lies will not escape.
Many will entreat the favor of a noble: and everyone [is] friends with the man that gives gifts.
All the brothers of the poor hate him: how much more do his friends desert him? Though he runs after them with promises they ignore him.
- POVERTY
He that acquires wisdom loves his own soul: he who guards his insight will discover prosperity.
A false witness will not go unpunished, and [he that] speaks lies will perish.
Luxury is not fitting for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
The inner understanding of a person controls their anger; and it is an honorable thing to overlook a transgression.
The king's wrath [is] as the roaring of a lion; but his favor [is] as dew upon the grass.
A foolish son [is] the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife [are] a continual dropping.
Houses and riches [are] the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife [is] from the LORD [Yahweh].
Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep; and an idle soul will suffer hunger.
He that keeps the commandment keeps his own soul; [but] he that despises his ways will die.
He that has pity on the poor lends to the LORD [Yahweh]; and that which he has given He will pay him again.
Chasten your son while there is hope, and do not let your soul spare for his crying.
A man of great wrath will suffer punishment: for if you deliver [him], yet you must do it again.
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your later years.
[There are] many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD [Yahweh], that will stand.
The desire of a man [is] his kindness: and a poor man [is] better than a liar.
The fear of the LORD [Yahweh] [leads] to life: and [he that has it] will remain satisfied; he will not be visited with evil.
A slothful [man] hides his hand in [his] bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
Strike a scoffer, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that has understanding, [and] he will understand knowledge.
He that ill-treats [his] father, [and] drives away [his] mother, [is] a son that causes shame, and brings reproach.
Cease, my son, to hear the instruction [that causes you] to wander from the words of knowledge.
An ungodly witness scorns judgement: and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.
Judgements are prepared for scoffers, and stripes for the back of fools.
