1 A man who keeps to himself and seeks only his own desires, goes against all possibilities of success.
2 A fool has no delight in intelligence, but expresses his own ideas instead.
3 When the wicked are brought in, disrespect also enters, as well as shame and disgrace.
4 The words of a man's mouth [are like] deep waters, a fountain of wisdom that gushes forth like a brook.

5 [It is] not good to show favoritism to the wicked and to push aside the innocent when passing judgement.
6 A fool's speech leads to strife, and his mouth invites a beating.
7 A fool's mouth [is] his downfall, and his lips [are] a snare to his soul.

8 The words of a talebearer [are] like delicacies, and they sink down into the inward man.

12 When faced with ruin the heart of a man is proud, but there is humility when he is faced with honor.

20 The inward man is satisfied by what the mouth produces; the yield of the lips is enough to fully satisfy.
