Bible Text (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]  [Read Bible Only]
The mighty God, the LORD [Yahweh], has spoken, and called out to the earth from the where the sun rises to where it sets.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone.
Our God will come, and will not remain silent: a fire will devour before him, and it will be very stormy all around him.

He will call out to the heavens above, and to the earth, that he may plead the cause of his people.
Gather my saints together to me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
And the heavens will declare his righteousness: for God Himself [is] judge. Selah.
Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will admonish you: I [am] God, your God.
I will not justify you on the basis of your sacrifices or your burnt offerings that you continually make before me.
I will take no young bull out of your house, [nor] male goats out of your pens.
For every beast of the forest [is] mine, [and] the cattle upon a thousand hills.
I know all the birds of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field [are] mine.
If I were hungry, I would not tell you: for the world [is] mine, and everything in it.
Would I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
Sacrifice praise to God; and fulfill your vows to the most High:
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you will glorify me.

But to the wicked God says, How dare you declare my statutes, or take my covenant in your mouth?
Since you hate instruction, and discard my words.
When you see a thief, then you accept him, and you throw in your lot with adulterers.
These [things] you have done, and I kept silent; so you thought that I had become like you: [but] I will reprove you, and set the record straight before your eyes.
Now consider this, you that forget God, lest I tear [you] in pieces, and [there be] nobody to rescue you.

Whoever offers praise as a sacrifice honors me: and prepares the way for me to show him the salvation of God.
We should praise when we really do not feel like it. Then it becomes a sacrifice.
