1 Hear me when I cry out, God of my righteousness: you enlarged me when I was in a tight place; be gracious to me, and listen to my prayer.
2 O you children of humanity, how long [will you turn] my honor into shame? [how long] will you crave things that are worthless, [and] search for falsehood? Stop.
3 But know that the LORD [Yahweh] has set apart the godly for himself: the LORD [Yahweh] will pay attention when I cry out to him.
 - HOLINESS
4 Be upset, but do not sin: lie down and meditate in your heart, and remain silent. Stop.
 - MEDITATION
5 Make the sacrifice of doing what is right, and be confident in the LORD [Yahweh].
 - SPIRITUAL SACRIFICES
6 Many are saying in their hearts, Who will show us something good? LORD [Yahweh], would you lift up the light of your presence for us.
 - PRESENCE OF GOD
7 You have placed more joy in my heart, than what they have when the corn and wine are in abundance.
 - JOY
8 I will lie down in peace, and sleep: for you, LORD [Yahweh], alone cause me to live securely.
