Bible Text (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]
And the LORD [Yahweh] spoke to Moses, saying,
Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that has an issue, and whoever is defiled by the dead:
Both male and female will you put out, without the camp will you put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst of which I dwell.
And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD [Yahweh] spoke to Moses, so did the children of Israel.
And the LORD [Yahweh] spoke to Moses, saying,
Speak to the children of Israel, When a man or woman will commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD [Yahweh], and that person be guilty;
Then they will confess their sin which they have done: and he will recompense his trespass with the principal of it, and add to it the fifth [part] of it, and give [it] to [him] against whom he has trespassed.
But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass to, let the trespass be recompensed to the LORD [Yahweh], [even] to the priest; beside the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement will be made for him.
And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring to the priest, will be his.
And every man's hallowed things will be his: whatever any man gives the priest, it will be his.
And the LORD [Yahweh] spoke to Moses, saying,
Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, If any man's wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him,
And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and [there be] no witness against her, neither she be taken [with the manner];
And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:
Then will the man bring his wife to the priest, and he will bring her offering for her, the tenth [part] of an ephah of barley meal; he will pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense on it; for it [is] an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
And the priest will bring her near, and set her before the LORD [Yahweh]:
And the priest will take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest will take, and put [it] into the water:
And the priest will set the woman before the LORD [Yahweh], and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which [is] the jealousy offering: and the priest will have in his hand the bitter water that causes the curse:
And the priest will charge her by an oath, and say to the woman, If no man have lain with you, and if you have not gone aside to uncleanness [with another] instead of your husband, be you free from this bitter water that causes the curse:
But if you have gone aside [to another] instead of your husband, and if you be defiled, and some man have lain with you beside your husband:
Then the priest will charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest will say to the woman, The LORD [Yahweh] make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the LORD [Yahweh] does make your thigh to rot, and your belly to swell;
And this water that causes the curse will go into your bowels, to make [your] belly to swell, and [your] thigh to rot: And the woman will say, Amen, amen.
And the priest will write these curses in a book, and he will blot [them] out with the bitter water:
And he will cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causes the curse: and the water that causes the curse will enter into her, [and become] bitter.
Then the priest will take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand, and will wave the offering before the LORD [Yahweh], and offer it upon the altar:
And the priest will take a handful of the offering, [even] the memorial of it, and burn [it] upon the altar, and afterward will cause the woman to drink the water.
And when he has made her to drink the water, then it will come to pass, [that], if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causes the curse will enter into her, [and become] bitter, and her belly will swell, and her thigh will rot: and the woman will be a curse among her people.
And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she will be free, and will conceive seed.
This [is] the law of jealousies, when a wife goes aside [to another] instead of her husband, and is defiled;
Or when the spirit of jealousy comes upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and will set the woman before the LORD [Yahweh], and the priest will execute upon her all this law.
Then will the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman will bear her iniquity.
