Bible Text (Scroll to Verse)  [Copy]  [Read Bible Only]
Do not be envious of evil men, neither desire to be with them.
For their heart studies destruction, and their lips talk of wrongdoing.
Through wisdom is a house built; and by insight it is established:
And by knowledge the rooms will be filled with all kinds of valuable and beautiful riches.
A wise man has power; and with knowledge a person continually increases the power.
With good advice you can do battle: and a lot of counseling brings deliverance.
Wisdom is out of reach for a fool: he has nothing to say in the marketplace.
The person that thinks about breaking things will be known as a trouble maker.
The thought of foolishness [is] sin: and the scoffer [is] an abomination to men.
If you grow weary in times of adversity, your strength will stay limited.
It is in these times that we grow and increase strength. So keep pushing on.
If you refuse to deliver [those that are] drawn to death, and [those that are] ready to be slain;
If you say, Behold, we did not know it; does not he that ponders the heart consider [it]? and he that keeps your soul, does he [not] know [it]? and will he [not] give to [every] man according to his deeds?
My child, eat honey, because it is good for you; and the honeycomb, which tastes sweet:
This is how getting to know wisdom will be to your inner motivation: when you find it you will have a future, and your hope will never fail.
Do not lie in wait, O wicked [man], against the dwelling of the righteous; do not spoil his resting place:
For a just [man] falls seven times, and rises up again: but the wicked will fall into trouble.
Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles:
Lest the LORD [Yahweh] see [it], and it displease him, and he turn away his anger from him.
Do not fret yourself because of evil [men], neither be envious of the wicked;
For there will be no reward to the evil [man]; the candle of the wicked will be put out.
My son, fear the LORD [Yahweh] and the king: [and] do not be involved with those that are given to change:
For their calamity will rise suddenly; and who knows the ruin of them both?
These [things] also [belong] to the wise. [It is] not good to have favoritism in judgement.
He that says to the wicked, You [are] righteous; the people will curse him, nations will abhor him:
But to those that rebuke [him] will be delight, and a good blessing will come upon them.
Everyone would like to kiss the lips of someone that responds with the right words.
Prepare your work outside, and make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterwards build your house.
Do not be a witness against your neighbor without a reason; and [do not] deceive with your lips.
Do not say, I will do the same to him as he has done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding;
And noticed that it was all grown over with thorns, [and] nettles had covered its surface, and its stone wall was broken down.
Then I saw, [and] considered [it] well: I looked upon [it, and] received instruction.
[Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
So poverty will overwhelm you like a robber; and needs will attack you, like someone carrying weapons.
