1 From now on therefore, there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who are not continually walking under the control of the flesh, but under the control of the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of [zoe] life in Christ Jesus made me free [once for all] from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in view of the fact that it was weak because of the flesh, God sending his own Son in the guise of sinful flesh, and because of sin, condemned sin in the flesh [once for all]: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who are not continually walking under the control of the flesh, but under the control of the Spirit. 5 For those that are under the control of the flesh are continually thinking about fleshly things; but those that are under the control of the Spirit think about spiritual things. 6 For fleshly thinking is death; but spiritual mindedness is [zoe] life and peace. 7 Because fleshly thinking is hostile towards God: for it is not coming under subjection to the law of God, nor is it capable of being so. 8 So then those that are continually in the flesh are not able to please God. 9 But you are not [continually] in the flesh, but in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God continues to dwell in you. For whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him. 10 And if Christ [is] in you, the body [is] spiritually dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is full of] [zoe] life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of the One that raised up Jesus from the dead is living in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead will also arouse and invigorate your bodies that are subject to death, by his Spirit that is living inside of you. 12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we do not continue to remain under obligation to the flesh, to be living fully under the control of the flesh. 13 For if you continually live under the control of the flesh, you are headed for death: but if you spiritually bring to death the actions of the body, you will experience fullness of [zoe] life. 14 For as long as we continue to be guided by the Spirit of God, we continue to be the children of God. 15 For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together. 18 According to my calculations the sufferings of this present [kairos] time are of little consequence when compared with the glory that is about to be unveiled for us. 19 For the anxious anticipation of the creation waits expectantly for the unveiling of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was made subject to depravity, not by its own choice, but because of the one who subjected it in hope, 21 Because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and has labour pains together until now. 23 And not only [they], but ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [which is], the redemption of our body. 24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a person sees, he does not need to hope for 25 But if we hope for what we cannot see, [then] we wait expectantly for [it]. 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings that cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit [is], because he makes intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God. 28 And we know that all things are working together towards something good for those that love God, who are the called according to [his] purpose. 29 For those He knew ahead of time, he also decided ahead of time that they would be made into the same likeness as his Son, leading to Him becoming the first prototype amongst many of the same family line. 30 Moreover whom he predestinated, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What will we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how will he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who will lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? [Is it] God that justifies? 34 Who [is] he that condemns? [Is it] Christ that died, yes rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us? 35 Who will separate us from the [agape] love of Christ? [will] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For your sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor [zoe] life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor [dynamic] powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [agape] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
